Valerie Elaine Wells founded The Wells Foundation Inc in early 2010. Valerie has been employed in the Human Service profession for over 20 years. Experiencing various positions throughout her career working in the New York City Department of Homeless Services homeless shelters.

During her time working in NYC shelters, Valerie realized young parents needed more guidance and assistance than available. Due to lack of education and job skills the young adult recidivism rate excelled rapidly. Most recidivist had children and lacked parenting skills sparking an accelerated rate of Administration for Children Services engagements. Acknowledging the need and committed to making a change The Wells Foundation was born.

Understanding the needs of the people and having the willingness to give back Valerie is focused on changing the repetitious pattern for young mothers today. Providing services and assistance to learn and to have the ability to live independently.

Valerie's personal experiences aligned her in this position to share her knowledge, create awareness and acknowledge change starts with us. Understanding the obstacles young women face Valerie states.....

“My struggle was my pain, my pain is my life, my life is my strength, my strength is my motivation and my motivation is my success”.
